Hi, I'm currently seeking a dr. for my son to see. He has been experiencing many, many unusual symptoms and has seen several doctors, had several tests (CT's, blood, etc)to no avail. He is an avid hunter and has never experienced a "bullseye" rash.

His symptoms range from neurological type (brain chills or vibrations, white flashes, spots in his eyes, reduces vision in one eye, poor coordination / dexterity, brain fog, etc.) to severe stomach cramps, mood and personality changes to name a few.

We currently reside in Carrollton, GA. Is there a lyme specialist nearby..or say within 100 miles or so? I would really appreciate your help. Thank you so much!

I don't believe there is any good lyme doctor in your area. See this post:

http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/2/24544

If you are willing to travel to the D.C. area, I can give you the name of a good lyme doc who can see you quickly. And, you can do telephone or Skype appointments after the initial in-person appointment. So, you won't have to travel here every month.

Let me know if you want the name and all the details (price, patient reports, etc.) Just click the envelop icon above my post to reply privately to me.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for MD, FL & NC.

Your son needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

They are far and few between, unfortunately. He needs to go where they are.

Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/2/15615?#000005

When you call for an appointment, ask if there are any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/GeorgiaLyme/info

Maybe they can help you.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups):
www.lyme-aware.org/georgia.html
https://www.facebook.com/groups/GAlymeleague/

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

View "Under Our Skin" for free on www.hulu.com

Read www.thehumansideoflyme.net written by a now-retired Lyme-literate psychiatrist.
