I was bit by a tick in the Emigrant Wilderness in June of 2014. Went to get a prophylactic antibiotic treatment course immediately after. Got tested for Lymes. Test was negative.
Fast forward a few months: I started getting arthritic symptoms in my feet, especially around the balls of my feet. Went in for another Lymes test (also negative). Arthritic symptoms progressed further over the next few months. Asked primary care doc to start me on doxycycline. …and the symptoms abated!
Primary doc listens, but has little experience with tick bourne illness. She wants to defer to a specialist, but the rheumatologist and the infectious diseases specialist I waited weeks to see both were disappointing in their dismissive and unhelpful attitudes.
I NEED a LLMD physician in Sacramento.
(Preferably one with Dignity Health, as that is my med coverage group.)
Help?

After the antibiotic purse of doxycycline stopped, the symptoms returned. My primary care doc is nervous about continuing it for too long, hence the need for a LLMD to oversee my case.
