I was bitten in 1999, had a large bull's-eye rash, got sick four years later, was misdiagnosed for another four years. Saw a local doctor then went to Missouri for a couple of years. I see a different Michigan doctor now. I have a difficult to treat case of Lyme.
I've been seeing my current doctor since 2009 and I love him but I don't think he's aggressive enough. I think he hopes about 99% of the people who see him but I haven't had much luck. I do take a lot of supplements and I detox. But I keep getting sicker.
I would like to know who the best doctors are for treating difficult cases of Lyme. It doesn't have to be the East Coast but I figured that's where they are.
I asked this question once about five years ago but decided to stay and give my doctor more of a chance.
I did receive a private message back then with a list of doctors but when I looked them up recently I couldn't tell if they were still practicing.
I don't have a lot of money but I will do what is necessary. I have Medicare and I know they don't pay a lot, and I would have to submit the forms myself in most cases.
I have a place to stay if I go to Raleigh but I can't tell if there are doctors there now who treat tough cases.
Anyway, I don't have money to waste on finding the right doctor so that is why I am asking you. I know I probably have to go to New York or Connecticut.
Thank you for your help.

Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme.
To do this, click the pencil/paper icon, make your changes, then click "Edit Post". Thanks.
