I'm looking for a Lyme literate Dr in or near the Seattle area. My daughter was diagnosed with Lyme at Columbia in 2009 and has not had good treatment, still chronic Lyme. She was just diagnosed with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever as well, which no one had ever tested her for.
She now has chronic fatigue, fybro, neuro symptoms and is suicidal, having attempted it twice. Dr.s either refuse to treat or just poke at it with short course oral antibiotics and she just keeps getting worse.
Thanks!

Lyme can cause psych problems as well as physical ones.
Your dear daughter needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. She needs to go where they are.
Most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
When calling for an appointment, ask about insurance and if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.
The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.
Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
