My 19 year old son has just been diagnosed with Infectious Mononeucleosis (Monospot/EBV) and Lyme disease (IgG, IgM and Western Blot positive; ANA 1200 smooth pattern).
The lab reports indicate the EBV can cause false positive results for the Lyme and ANA and I only want to do what is best for him. He needs someone who can help us determine if he actually has Lyme and whether acute or chronic; if there are co-infections (he has not been tested); and if the recommended treatment is sufficient.
There are no Lyme literate docs close, but we will travel.
Thank you for any and all help!

Your dear son needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. He needs to go where they are.
Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

I sent you a name and lots of good information. Good for you for asking for a doctor here. And, good for you for being willing to travel.
To get an accurate diagnosis, get to the best lyme doctor you can possibly afford. You are paying for expertise. So, you want to get it right. Lyme is not easy to diagnose and definitely not easy to treat or cure. Same goes for the lyme coinfections (other diseases that you get right along with the lyme).
Welcome to lymenet! We will help you here all we can.
