Hey LC,
You are in luck. CA has the most of both, of all the states. Hopefully you'll find a good match.
If you go to www.MarylandLyme.org you will see DOCTOR REFERRALS on the menu to your left.
That gives you a link so you can find Lyme treating docs (with contact info) and others (alternative, etc.) in all states that have them.
How common is Lyme in California? My perception is its not common compared to some regions, but I'm starting to wonder...

It's here, along with co-infections. Tick dragging gets done, with ticks brought back to the lab and analyzed. I know some N CA stats, and probably the folks in S CA would have stats for their areas.
In N CA, we range anywhere from hopefully under 5% ticks infected to 40% nymph (2nd stage) ticks infected in Mendocino Cty, a little north of San Francisco. It's a more forested area with a lot of animals.
People need to know that the SF Bay Area has infected ticks and to have tick repellent on their outdoor pets and on themselves when out in nature.
