Hello, I'm looking for a Lyme Literate Dr. hopefully in Chester County PA.
Had Lyme 25 years ago and it took me over 6 months to resolve. At that time I had found a tick on me, bulls eye rash, fever, headaches etc.
Last year I got bit again, and all those fun symptoms came back like an ugly nightmare revisited. Mainly a headach that is with me 7 24.
I took a ton of doxy and within 3 months the headache went away. Well a year later, almost to the day, my headaches are back, but I didn't, at least to my knowledge have another tick bite.
So, I'm thinking relapse and that it's time to find a Lyme literate Dr. for help. So please pm me if anyone knows of someone in my area that can help.
Btw, I'm outraged that 25 years later that the medical world isn't any further along understanding and treating this disease then they where 25 years ago during my first go round. I guess there just isn't enough money in it.
Thanks

It is a crime what Lyme patients have to endure, even now!
You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.
Also most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and his new one, "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.
Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
Btw - I know you are new to Lymenet, but please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme.
To do this click the pencil/paper icon, make your changes, then click "Edit Post". Thanks.

Duck,
I agree! The reason this keeps happening though is a lot more complex and political, and STUPID too. It shouldn't be happening!
