You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.
Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and his new one, "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.
Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check the local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Welcome. You will find many friends that understand here. Hopefully there are good LLMD in Indiana. I started with a LLMD in my area, but soon found out, she really didn't know what she was doing.
I now travel to DC every 3rd month to see a dr. there.
Good luck!

Hey Loudoak. I'm sorry you've been fighting this battle for 15 years. I know that seems like a life time from my experience. ?Don't know where you are in IN
I'm a co-founder of a Lyme support group in Louisville, KY. We know of several Functional Medicine docs that treat Lyme & co in the Indy area.

I have been going to DC about 7 month. I can definitely say I'm improving. It is a SLOW marathon of a journey, but I can say I'm better now than I was 7 months ago.
Making progress. Just slowly. We've all been told, but hard to live: This is a marathon, not a sprint.
