Wondering if anyone has had any experiences (positive/negative) with the doctors at this newly opened LD center. Considering having my primary care refer me there for a consult. Thanks

That would be the last place to go. If you are looking for Lyme Literate Medical Doctors(LLMD) this group will be able to give you names.
What state/city are you interested in finding a doctor? Are you willing to travel out of your state, to surrounding areas?

I live in Maryland and (like other MD residents) many of the providers whom I see are in the Hopkins system. Over the years I’ve had both good and bad Hopkins doctors.
Have you personally had a negative experience with the Hopkins Lyme Center?
I’m newly diagnosed, so I’m trying to gather information to help me decide how to proceed next. In addition to this group, I’ve joined Lyme Disease.org and intend to find a local support group.
Thanks, Susan

Welcome to Lymenet Bluebird7
Granted, maybe some of the doctors at John Hopkins are excellent. BUT NOT FOR LYME OR TICK BORNE INFECTIONS.
You would be seen by an Infectious Doc. You would have to test positive for Lyme on outdated tests that MISS up to 70% of sufferers. You would only be treated with 28 days of antibiotics, declared 'cured' and sent home to die.
Many, many Lyme patients have voiced negative reviews and for good reason. Read ;
Do not see an Infectious Disease Doctor. ( IDSA). You need a doctor, any doctor, that has been trained according to International Lyme And Associated Disease Society ( ILADS )

Thanks everyone for your input on the Hopkins Lyme Center.
I will certainly proceed with caution there. Since I probably have (fairly mild) Lyme carditis, I especially need to find a Lyme-aware cardiologist. I had hoped that I might find one through Hopkins, but perhaps I should look elsewhere and re-post for recommendations.
