Welcome to lymenet JayFD

You can request a LLMD through ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society) here;

https://www.ilads.org/patient-care/provider-search/

You can request a LLMD through Global Lyme Alliance here;

https://globallymealliance.org/education-awareness/find-medical-professional/

Get your finances in order as Lyme is expensive to treat. Many LLMD'S don't participle with insurances, here's why;

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/2/25539?

You must become your own healthcare advocate.
Research all you can about Tick Borne Infections. Utilize Lymenet's 'search' function located in the middle of home page. It contains the most extensive patient experiences of all things Lyme. You can also post any questions you may have in the open forum and a Lymenet member will respond and help you.

Important;
You must research all LLMD'S before committing to their practice. To do this, Google for patient reviews or join your area's Lyme support groups. Lyme support groups offer first-hand patient experiences with LLMD'S in your immediate area.
Here is your area's Lyme support groups;

https://m.facebook.com/groups/389174651103986/?ref=br_rs
https://rawlsmd.com/lyme-support

I will send you a private message.
Healing wishes.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for CT.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.

Here is a link for them:

http://www.lymenet.org/BurrGuide200810.pdf

Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.

Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:

"Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance"
http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=025539;p=0

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/ConnecticutLyme/info

Maybe they can help. They would know better about CT.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups info):

http://whatislyme.com/lyme-in-connecticut/

http://www.lymenet.org/SupportGroups/UnitedStates/Connecticut/

Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. View "Under Our Skin" and "Under Our Skin2: Emergence". Check your local library or buy it online.
