Hi everyone, My friend is waiting for a call back from a highly recommended LLMD in Alabama; it's been a week, and it's so hard to wait. I also don't want to assume that will work out, so I'm still searching for names in case it doesn't. Dumb question: can it take this long to hear back about an initial appointment? Do I just wait patiently, or do I call to gently remind?
In case that referral doesn't work: Has anyone heard of these two doctors in Riverdale, GA: Dr. D, Dr. P? They are infectious disease doctors. (I have a feeling I know the answer, but I just have to ask.)
I am really confused. I got these names from another LD group. They seem to have a very different referral list than the names I see here.
Thanks so much, Aviva

Hi Aviva!
Is she waiting for a call back on getting an initial appointment or on test results etc?
If she is waiting to hear to get an appointment....I would call. I might also ask how availble this LLMD is by phone etc if you have questions or problems.
That's my thought.
Good luck!

I've found that you DO need to be persistant. My Lyme treating doctor has been Dr M in Mobile, AL. He is a good doctor in diagnosis and treatment and has done me a lot of good. Unfortunately after I was released from the hospital from emergency surgery, Dr. M responded to none of my phone and email messages . I've been out of medication because, when I finally got his office on the phone 3 weeks later, he wouldn't refill. I'm seeking another LLMD, but have not yet been able to set an appointment with anyone. It seems you've already realized that you need to have "eggs in several baskets" until you actually get in to see someone since time is "of the essence."
Your freind is lucky to have such a good freind as you to help. Best Wishes to both of you.
