Hi,
Looking for counselor in Triangle area, NC>
My 14yr old is suffering with anxiety and depression with chronic lyme. Lately showing reaction to trauma/loss aspect.
Anyone know of good counselor, psychologist with experience in this. Christian orientation would be good.
Have seen an insensitive therapist with the "You need to fight!" tack which really angered and discouraged my girl who can't fight any harder than she is right now. Need good experience if I make her try again.

My son, Jordan, also had a significant amount of anxiety and depression during the first 6 months of treatment (He was 16). The therapist had no idea what Jordan was dealing with, though. Anti-depressents (Prozac) was of great benefit. As treatment progresses and your daughter begins to show improvement, some of these symptoms should begin to subside. There are also many herbal remedies for depression - Do a search on LymeNet for those.
