I've been suffering with many of the signs of Lyme for a few years, but can't get my MD to test properly. He's very skeptical, even though I have muscle symptoms, low fevers, insomnia, brain fog and TMJ and have hiked in northern CA backwoods for years, where ticks are endemic. Can you recommend a good doctor in the SF Bay Area (east bay, SF or north bay/sonoma are closest for me, but I'll consider driving anywhere).

Can someone forward this to me as well, I am trying to figure out where to go, and Boston or San Fran are my top places as far as where i have support. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. I've contacted the San Jose Medical Center for referrals and went to an infectious diseases specialist yesterday who is taking my condition seriously. Blood tests should be back tomorrow, and I'm hoping he'll have a good result. Previously I had gone to a big GP office over on El Camino in Santa Clara, who while willingly gave a presciption for doxycycline, did not take it seriously. They didn't even do blood tests.

Me too -- I'd like to know if there are any Lyme-literate doctors in San Francisco who accept Medicare/Medi-cal. -- [email protected]Posts: 13155 | From San Francisco | Registered: May 2006

Can someone send me information on a good doctor in the SF bay area (perferably east bay but willing to drive)? I've been tested with the standard blood test which came out negative. I've been having weird neurological problems since last fall. I found several ticks on me last year. I've heard the igenex tests are good but who to go to test for this?
