Every weekend from Memorial Day to Labor Day
Thousands of New Yorkers leave the Hot Sweaty
City and sit in traffic to spend a little bit of
time at the beach (Fire Island to Montauk)
or the more laid back upstate NY.

I have been making this trek for 30yrs. and have
heard many lyme stories from fellow passengers
on the long weary ride home. Now that I have a
Lyme diagnosis it occured to me that I never asked any of them where they went for their treatment

It boggles my brain to be in one of the best
cities in the world for medical treatment
But I cant find a doctor to test me for co-infections. Huh?

A few years ago in a Neurologists office with
a friend I asked about Lyme Disease. This Dr.
told me that there were cases of Lyme disease
in Manhattan in people who had never left town.

I thought about his for a long time, birds I guessed. And then today it hit me, all those
people on the train and bus with their dogs running through the brush in Montauk. Where do
they go when when they get home? Central Park.
Exactly where all those people who cant get away
go- just never thought about ticks being in Central Park before. (duh)

Anyway thousands of people are sick and I so far
I cannot find a Doctor in this city.... Sad.

I think I have the same list as betty. There are three names for NYC, but I don't know if they treat coinfections.

How about Hyde Park?

Most people have to travel long distances to be treated. It's worth it! [Smile]
