Hi Everyone,

I have been off abx for the past six years. However, I have been having digestive issues (on and off) which I suspect are related to candida for the past two years.

I must admit that I have not consistently followed the candida diet in the past couple of years because, for the most part, I was feeling okay and I thought that the yeast in my system was under control.

What I think has also contributed to my recent problem with yeast is that I have had several dental appointments this year (root canal etc. and have had to take an antibiotic prior to each appointment due to the fact that I have a touch of asthma and mitral valve prolapse. I have been advised by my MD to medicate before any invasive procedure.

My regular internist and gastro feel that I have IBS and don't believe that yeast can cause problems in the intestinal tract. My gastro told me the other day that he believes one can have yeast in the mouth (I have a somewhat whitish tongue which is slowly subsiding because I am following a strict diet now), but that doesn't indicate that it also exists in your stomach. That statement shows that he is totally clueless about candida!

As you can imagine, I am very frustrated with my regular doctors. If anyone in northern/central NJ knows an MD who understands lyme and candida/IBS, and uses natural/nutritional treatments, as well as conventional, please send me a PM and let me know who they are.

Thank you so much for your help!
