Anyone have on line links for Stats on reliability for Elisa vs. western blot?

Doc said if Elisa is negative than Lyme is not possible?

This doc was a referral from primary. Not confident of their knowledge base.

You would get many more replies if this were posted in Medical Questions.

Here is what I have:

Johns Hopkins.... testing for Lyme inadequate

I'm pretty sure they are referring to the ELISA here. It's LOUSY.

PS... Skip the other labs....go straight to Igenex. www.igenex.com

Go to the Medical forum. Stickied on the top are various topics. One is "Dr C's explanation of western blot."

Keep reading through the end of the thread.

Watch for the part about the failure rates of various labs, with both the western blot and ELISA. See how many times they couldn't even find lyme. Welcome to our world!! Notice that peer-reviewed studies are cited. Print that and take it to your doctor, who is sorely needing an update on his education!

And, as advised, use IGeneX for a western blot, and post your results here. Website by that name. Order tests 188 and 189. DOG your doctor until he does it!!
