I joined the forum recently after a recommendation I received from someone from another neurological forum.

Thank you all for being so welcoming, warm, and informative. I appreciate the time and effort you've taken in responding to my MANY questions.

I wrote another post describing the progression of whatever is ailing me in another post in order to get some feedback and essentially I was told that I am not CRAZY to consider Lyme. On the contrary, I was encouraged to find a LLMD and that's just what I'm doing.

I'm going to quickly recap my symptoms, so that you can base your opinions on my specific situation:

1. Pin and Needles and Numbness in my arms and legs, which comes and goes and varies from day to day--more numbness than pins and needles.

2. Bell's Palsy (facial numbness)

3. Stiff neck and pain down my shoulders and arms

4. Blurred vision; eye twitching, but only twice, sensitivity to light

5. Occasional rashes, swollen lymph nodes, sore throats, and chronic respiratory and sinus infections. Persistent cough this last time for six weeks now....

6. I was recently told I have a heart murmur I never knew I had. I also had a high pulse for me (I'm in the 60s or 70s tops) and the other day I was lying down and was at 80 minimum. I also had an episode where my heart was RACING horribly fast, but I am unsure if that is abnormal given the circumstances.

7. Severely compromised balance, bouts of vertigo, unexplained peripheral neuropathy for six months, which just miraculously subsided, and an abnormal gait at this point.

8. Not currently, but in recent past really bad periods of brain fog, poor concentration and short-term memory, a few incidents of slurred speech, and "word searching."

9. Irritably bladder (though not horrible yet, just a slight difference); really bad spastic bowel or IBS.

10. Overall body aches, muscle twitching, though that has slowed down--honestly I think I'm possibly getting over an "attack," because my symptoms have subsided quite a bit.

11. Just in the last 10 days or so, for the first time in my life I have had PERSISTENT carpal tunnel and joint pain in my ankles and knees off and on. When I would experience wrist pain in the past it would go away in a day or two, but not this time.

12. Fine tremor.

13. A long history of depression, and "mood disorder," that is, moments when I would fly into rages, and at times angry, hysterical fits for NO significant reason. My response in other words was completely out of proportion to the argument or the situation.

Phew. I might have forgotten a symptom or two, but that's the skinny. I'm sorry I droned on, but I wanted to know if the doctor I am thinking of going to see would be the best one for me. I was thinking of seeing Dr. L.

Does anyone have any insight or suggestions about LLMDs in NYS? I live in NYC, but I am willing to travel. Come one come all...please...

I was hoping to call this Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday at the latest because I have no way of knowing when the doctor I choose will be able to squeeze me in.

Thanks so much for taking the time and frankly for giving me a little hope.
