I am new on the forum and have been suffering from Lyme disease for at least 4 years now. I was just diagnosed by the Western blot test here in Atlanta about 8 months ago.
I have been trying alternative cures ever since (dietary changes, supplements, and strong herbal treatments).
Bikram yoga so far is the only thing that seems to help with my symptoms which are debilitating arthritis in the knees, wrists, and elbows, interstitial cystitis, fatigue, diminished cognitive abilities, irritable bowel syndrome, tight muscles in the shoulder area, occasional neck pain, and lots of recent cavities. I do not know if the cavities are related to Lyme infection, but I never had a cavity problem until recently.
The doctor said I was infected with the same bacteria on two different occasions. 8 years ago I was diagnosed with EBV, which I guess could be complicating recovery for me.
I am 30 years old and live in Atlanta. I would love to find a specialist in the Atlanta area or here in the south, but am willing to travel if necessary. I am able to spend a few months in the Philadelphia area this summer if there are no specialists near Atlanta.
Other large cities near me are: Chattanooga, Nashville, Charlotte, Birmingham.
I never had the rash, nor do I recall seeing a tick imbedded in my skin. I did spend most of my life in Lyme endemic NJ.
