my mother has had c.diff for many months so her doctor is sending her to a specialist: an infectious disease doctor. He's supposedly one of the best in the city.

How ridiculous is it that i am scared to death of mentioning her lyme/babs history to him??!

i don't want to hear his take on it, and i don't want to upset mom, as bad off as she is right now, with some arrogant duck spouting off on how chronic lyme doesn't exist.

i understand the money-grubbing insurance companies fighting lyme, but the ID guys? the very group whose backgrounds in bacteria and parasites and abx treatments we really need.

infuriating.

Well, does she have an LLMD? Does she still

have active TBI's? If so, I wouldn't worry to much as long as she

doesn't take her advice on how to deal with them from him.

(regardless of the answers those questions though, I'm

pretty sure steroids would be contraindicated--think this

is the case with anyone who's ever had a TBD)

Let us know how it went, cameron! Yes, there is a lyme literate Dr P in GA! Hope that was the same person.

I just got back from a GI specialist [new apptm] and I was scared to death of the Lyme issue. It never was mentioned.
(whew!)

It's crazy, isn't it!!? [Roll Eyes]

Yes, I understand what a difficult situation this is. Don't mention it. Maybe the ID doc won't ask? It really isn't necessary for them to ask.

A lot of people--a lot--have c diff (The supergerm or the more routine germ.) I dearly hope it gets treated with enough of a med.

Having Lyme is like living in the hinterlands of society in every way, and that's not right.

I wish you the best!

Edited: Orrrrrrrrrrr ... You could request a referral to a gastroenterologist, instead! Actually, that would be more appropriate, anyway!

If she has trouble getting rid of c. diff, you are welcome to PM me.

Also, have you done a search on this board about c diff? There is lots of information!
