Hi. I have an itchy rash on my inner left thigh.

It started out as just a small bump that I scratched and now it has gotten a lot bigger but with no visible bite marks.

The bump is gone. It is sort of a bulls-eye but the opposite of the photos I have seen. Mine is a patch of red then a clear circle then another line of red.

The photos I have seen have a bite mark with a clearing and then a circle of red. Yesterday I felt weak all day and threw up once and spent all afternoon in bed.

Also mild fever and mild headaches. Today I don't feel much like eating and the headaches are not as bad.

So, I've only had these symptoms for a couple of days, yesterday being the worst and I'm feeling better today.

Could this be Lyme disease ? How long do the initial symptoms last, headaches , fever, nausea, etc...?

Do any other insect bites cause a similar rash and symptoms ?

Could someone recommend a Lyme disease doctor in N.J. I'm in Somerset county in Hillsborough. Thanks for your help. Chris

I just got back from a "regular" doctor.

As soon as he saw the rash he said it was lyme disease. No blood test.

He gave me a prescription for doxycycline. 100mg capsules. Take 2x a day for one month.

He said I didn't need to come back.

Is this the usual treatment ?
