One place to look for a good LLMD is through your local Lyme support groups. I found an awesome LLMD this way and he is not on the list here because one or two people had a complaint about him; and that seems to be cause for removal from the list.

However, he has researched LD for 30 years and continues to do so; and I personally know several people that were completely cured by him. He is so knowlegable and he will help you find out what is wrong with you even if it's not Lyme.

You may miss a good LLMD that is near you and just happens not to be on the list provided here. And that is why I am suggesting checking with you local Lyme support groups. People there should know how to direct you.

I found it online. I typed in Lyme support groups and then typed in the state where I live. I live in MS, so if we have a Lyme support group, then most states should.

Hi Suthurn and Zennia,

At the top of any page here and over on the left, leafy menu, click "Support Groups" or go to www.lymediseaseassociation.org and search their Support Group listing.

There are many support groups!

My name is Scott Grant and about 3 weeks ago a small tick lodged in my leg (for probably about 30 minutes)and maybe 7-10 later I developed the following symptoms:

alternating severe chills and severe fever (usually 101-102 degrees)
constant head pressure, massive headaches, head even tingled
muscle aches throughout my body
bump rashes about the 5th day of ailment (first on arms and legs, then torso)

First, does this sound like Lyme disease? (No bulls-eye rash at the bite spot)

Second, I'm in the second week of antibiotics (which finally made me feel fine), which will run out Thursday. Do I need more? (dr won't prescribe more)

Third, any LLMDs in the Atlanta area?

Thank you so much for the help, especially you daise. The bumps happened before any medications, so they were not a reaction to treatment. I will move quickly to find an LLMD. I have not seen the infectious disease people, yet, because of the blocks/screens before I'm allowed to see them (consult with my primary care physician, etc.). The primary care physician is staying firm that he won't act until a couple more weeks have passed.

Morning Scott,

Yup, you're on top of things! When you get an LLMD name and you call for an appointment, be sure to mention your bumps on the phone. I'm not saying it is RMSF, but if it is, that's urgent.

You might google "rashes" or "rash" for examples of what RMSF looks like.

Hang-in there!
