Hi. My husband started 4 weeks ago with a round red rash on his chest about 1 1/2 inches across. It was not the classic bulls-eye rash. He has since been having very high fevers (102-104+), nearly whole body rashes, as well as numerous other symptoms, most recently migrating joint pain that comes and goes. He has been on several anitbiotics for a few days each and most recently was on Doxy for 13 days to treat possible Lyme disease. His fever remains and his regular doc suggested that he stops the doxy as it doesn't seem to be helping. They are considering sending him to a rheumatologist to consider other possibilities as this doc doesn't feel it is Lyme disease since it has not responded yet. From what I have researched, Lyme does not always respond right away to antibiotics. I am concerned that he will not be on antibiotics now for a while in the event that it is still Lyme disease and would like to find a Lyme disease specialist in my area (Carmichaels, PA). This is a small town between Pittsburgh, PA and Morgantown, WV. Would probably need to go with a doc up towards Pittsburgh due to insurance reasons if possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
