Hi there!

We're in RI, and got a tick bite late last week, probably Friday. The child was in the woods with a kid program on 8/08.

Friday night symptoms: with a persistent headache that tylenol could not cure, and alot of tiredness.

Saturday symptoms: all the same as Friday symptoms, plus rash.

Sunday symptoms: same as Friday AND Saturday, rash is now 8 inches, fever is 100.6 with tylenol/motrin combination for headache that's persisted since Friday. (48 hours straight with headache). Vomiting begins.

Sunday we called the doctor who said go to the ER for a lyme titar test. So we went to Hasboro Children's. They took a Lyme Disease blood test and said they would fax results to the doctor on Tuesday. No other tests were done. Child's weight was 132 in the ER.

Monday: All the same symptoms as Sunday, no headache relief, barely eating, but now, completely lethargic child, who doesn't want to get out of bed. Rash has not grown. I know, cus I circled the rash on Sunday to check to see if there was a size change.

Tuesday Symptoms, exactly like Monday. Headache is now on 96 hour mark.

Went to Doctor Tueday. Doctor said to ease off motrin so as not to give child "rebound" headache. So we only gave tylenol. Doctor said lyme results not available for hospital yet.

The Headache persisted, and child fell asleep on doctor's table, exhausted and in pain.

Doctor said child was perky and probably just a had a virus that would be over in a few days. Doctor said lymph nodes in neck were fine, and did a white blood cell count check which was "normal".

Child has lost five pounds, but doctor was unconcerned.

So here I am Tuesday night, with a child who is getting worse by the day, a doctor who doesn't see a need for any furthur testing, no antibiotics, no prescriptions, and an insurance company that won't let me change doctors.

Where can I go for some help?

Welcome; so glad you found us!! xox

Fyi: we have over 1000 viewers daily; 200 - 400 posting/replying so we all must manage our time well; so specific titles get our time/replies. NON-SPECIFIC ONES, I SOB, SCROLL ON BY!
*************************************************************

Also, please be VERY SPECIFIC in subject line what you will be discussing.

Example:

PLEASE show your positive, +/-, and IND numbers from both western blot IGG AND IGM blood tests; do it this way please!

IGM ... do same thing for IGG below IGM

When you post or reply, please break up your solid, continuous block text [Smile]
welcome to the board! many of us have neuro lyme where we can NOT read long solid block text and be able to comprehend and read it as is.

please edit your post by CLICKING PAPER/PENCIL ICON to right of your name. that opens up BOTH subject line and body text.

now please break up your WORDY SENTENCES into one sentence paragraphs. Then hit ENTER KEY ``THREE`` after each paragraph; we need that space for comprehension.

if you are NOT a wordy person, you can do 2 or 3 total ok. do this for your entire post.

NOTE: you do NOT have to use "", just show the name of person you are responding to, and then type your comment.

IF you need to use "", PLEASE DELETE "BOLD" CODES so it's regular type text we read vs. the DARK, HARSH/PAINFUL BOLDING.

specifically, delete the first 4 characters of 2ND LINE of a ""

[QB] just delete these 4 characters, and BOLDING is GONE! my eyes will really appreciate that; it's one very bad side effect of my having lyme for 38.5 years!! xox

then go to left hand corner and mark box to receive ALL REPLIES, and click EDIT SEND

we thank you for helping us; [Wink] otherwise, we will SOB, SCROLL ON BY, since we can't read to help you. If I see posts like this, I SOB them; to hard on me. I'm also in the early stages of losing my eyesight from diabetes retinopathy. [Frown]

They are CRAZY!! A tick bite and a rash... and NO TREATMENT?

I hear a lawsuit coming!!!

Document everything... including taking a picture of the rash. Take one with the child's face in the photo if possible and one with the date of a newspaper in another.

One with a ruler next to the rash in another.

Hope you get the help you need!
