Hi, I see Dr.J in SC. My husband is in the military so our insurance is tricare prime. Well, we've been told that I've been cut off completely from him. They say they now have the right to refuse any doctor they see as unfit. They say his treatment is "experimental" and unsafe. They also mentioned his problems in NC. Has anyone's insurance done this too? The air force specifically moved us here a few years ago so I could get treated by him and now i can't see him. I am pretty panicked. Where is the nearest doc that treats like him? I will travel so docs don't need to be in SC. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks...
I forgot to mention in my original post that i was paying out of pocket for Dr. J's visits. But, i could get coverage for prescriptions. Now i can't even do that.

I'm thinking maybe you should change the heading of your post.
Maybe like: Need LLMD in S.C. Insurance rejects Dr. J
I think people tend to skip over the posts which don't mention the State.
I know I just skim through and look for all in So. Calif. where I live.
I'm sure if you re-word the heading - someone will see it and help you.
Good Luck, Peedie

peedie has a good suggestion,
i'd like to amend it to:
in military; need SC LLMD; insurance denied NC's Dr. J.
make sure you go to lower left side and mark box for ALL REPLIES be sent to you; click send.
copy your entire post, and then start NEW POST IN "SUPPORT" ... found by clicking on FORUM HOME, upper right side.
subject: military has denied me SC's Dr. J treatment; who do you go to?
paste your entire story here;
mark lower left box for all replies; click send.
there are MANY MILITARY FOLKS/SPOUSES on this board, and they will assist you since they have had to seek OTHER chronic LLMDS vs. the IDSA, infectious drs. military folks send you too!!!

wow, that situation sucks.
My insurance did pay a small portion of the cost for Dr J's visits, but it was a huge battle, complicated by Dr J's poor admin practices.
Apparently United Healthcare and BlueCross are both suing Dr J for past claims. it is a vindictive lawsuit and i think he is countersuing. it is a deplorable situation.
I am only 15 minutes from Dr J's office but I travel 8 hours for treatment -- you will probably have to do so also, as I know of no other LLMDs in the Southeast.
