This beats everything. I went to a walk-in clinic because of weakness and 'ripping' of my hand/finger/wrists and problems with my knees (pain, giving out).

He sent me to a rheumatologist. The rheumy gives a psych exam, subsequently diagnoses me with fibromyalgia, and despite my writing 3 times on the paperwork before my visit with the doctor I had ringing in my ears and difficulty with balance, word problems, banging into things, msucles spasms, he ignored it.

Apparently he doesn't even bother to read all the papers they make you fill out. He orders stupid tests like Fifth's disease which is a childhood disease (I am 50 years old) attempts to give me generic Mobic for fibromyalgia.

He insisted on taking thyroid tests which I told him my big eyes were heredity, but I did ask about the drooping eye lid.

The tests came back normal (I have insurance but have to pay a percentage of each test) but he never had any explanation for why I might have swollen eyes and drooping eye lid.

I mention my word problems (all of a sudden making up words as I go along trying to find the right word I need, ringing in my ears) and he suddenly seems shook up (I think as he realized I had written it MANY TIMES) as he looked through my stuff.

He began to type up what I had said when trying to talk to a patient at work [I was trying to find the word "spilt" and said spollen, (trying again) spillen-spilled-spilt.

He said he had a colleage neurologist he wanted to send me to. At that point, I didn't want to go to ANY one he knew, as it seemed like a money scheme between friends.

I said I had my own (mentioned one you guys gave me here) and he said there was no MD by that name in that town I mentioned when he was looking it up in his book.

I imagine they were trying to give me the letter of recommendation I needed to go for insurance sake? Anyway, in the end I was supposed to get back to them and let them know what I plan to do (find the MD I wanted or whatever)

In the end, his recommendation to me was "quit smoking and exercise!!" He charged my insurance almost $600 total to tell me that?! (And I can assure you I am in no way by any stretch of imagination, obese).

The next day some neurologist's office called my house. Apparently they had given my # to his colleage friend neurologist and apparently they had an immediate opening (was he getting nervous for his negligence or was the neurologist desperate for more money and do nothing but give me another psych test?)

I ignored the call and did not call them. I had no plan to go there.

Well, apparently unbeknownst to ME, they scheduled ANOTHER appointment for me (!!)

I just got a voice message on my phone today that they were reminding me of my appointment the following morning. They WARNED me if I didn't go, they were going to CHARGE me $25 on my insurance!

Well, I listened further on my voice mails and there was another call from them the following day...I missed the appointment I never knew about or made!!!!!!!

Now, I am going to call my insurance company and tell them about this. This is INSURANCE FRAUD.

I never made an appointment with them, nor made a second appointment with them, I never agreed nor spoke to them about the second appointment, didn't know when it was or even existed, AND I never gave them any of my insurance information!

I am livid. When I heard this message tonight, I tried to call the office. I had to keep listening to the message because she talked so fast I was missing a number.

I finally heard the number on the second message they left. There was only an after hours oncall thingy, so it has to wait. But I am in school in the morning so it will have to be later tomorrow.

Oh that was another thing. The appointment was right when I am taking my litigation class in school, so there is no freaking way I would ever agree to that.

Has anyone experienced anything like this??

I've never experienced this. Pretty weird stuff! I'm glad you called your ins company!

This is why we love our LLMD's... stay away from non-LL rheumies!! They are clueless!

Too disgusted to comment with anything civil regarding the situation.

Should you make complaint with the atty. general's office or state dept. of health also?

Hope you get satisfaction with one of the agencies..(ins. or state)
