I am looking to find an LLMD to consult with after being bitten by nymph ticks and having some symptoms for the last few weeks. I am very discouraged and concerned by some of the information that I found on the NET that says that LYME treatment could be hopeless because the cell wall deficient forms of the bacteria can take up to 18 month of continuous AB treatment to get rid of. Also I red Lyme can't be eradicated in fibroblast cells (scar tissue) and finally that once the disease crosses BBB it could become it's own separate strain.
All of that is depressing and seems to be supported by extensive research on the surface: http://www.canlyme.com/tom.html "The Complexities of Lyme Disease" A Microbiology Tutorial by Thomas M. Grier M.Sc.
Thanks in advance for your help,
-Vitya
