I had a bulls eye rash 16 months ago, but since I had no idea about the Lyme disease I just thought it was a spider bite I was allergic to. I never found a tick on my skin, the rash was on my upper leg and looked like a spider or a mosquito bite. It was there for almost 20 days.
I started to have knee pain first, and I thought it was the weight I gained. After 2 months I started to have heart problems. It became so severe I visited a cardiologist. I had an EKG, and was prescribed with a stress test but could not follow the visits. Then started my joint pains, shooting pains all over my body along with the deep depression. I turned into someone else in couple of months.
I though I had panic attack, then I thought everything was from a depression, but the joint pains almost everyday, the tiredness, fatigue, etc was unbearable. I have been having night sweats all through these months, also. It makes it impossible to have a healthy sleep. My cloths, my pillow all gets so wet I have to change them twice almost every night.
Then I found out my vision problems, that I couldn't focus, look into the computer or tv screen, the light was bothering me like crazy. And I had my first migraine of my life. I was thinking I lost my mind.
After 1 year I had a herniated disc, and I was diagnosed with mild arthritis also.
This last month, I am having very severe neck stiffness and numbness, it gets very hard to hold my head up, the feeling is very weird.
I started to lose my memory it seems. I can not remember the words I wanted to say seconds before. My short term memory is almost lost. My mind is like there is a heavy fog in it. I sometimes cannot make any sense of what I hear from other people.
And all of these symptoms and many others seem like taking turns in cycles....
2 months ago, I saw the picture of a bulls eye rash in the newspaper , and then it caught my eye, the Lyme disease. After reading the article, everything in my mind was answered. I went to a primary physician. However, the tests my primary physician gave, Eliza test and western blot I guess, came negative. Even though I told her how severe my symptoms are , since the tests came negative, she thinks I do not have Lyme disease. She gave me some more hormone tests and said if they come up negative, she will send me to a rheumatoid doctor. I mentioned the rash many times, and she just thinks the tests are negative so she will ignore the rash...
Now, I am terrified. I do not know what to do. I am positive that I have this Lyme disease. I decided to see a Lyme literate doctor. However, I do not know who to see. I Live in central islip, ny now but I will be moving to Queens in 15 days.
Please give some sort of lead so that I then will have a path to follow. I am emotionally broken down, terrified and lost.
thanks, hande.
