Hello to all! Hoping someone can offer assistance in finding a pediatrician in the Howard County, Maryland, area for a diagnosis of my son Tyler. Tyler is 12 years old and is displaying symptoms which could be indicative of LD. He was in contact with a deer tick in late June of this year. Has been ill now for the last month, extremely tired, lightheaded, racing heart when getting out of bed, no vomiting, no diarreah, severe stomach cramps, slight low grade on and off fever, body tremors, some knee pain, tingling fingers and mild discomfort in his wrists, no appetite, weight loss.
Initial blood work was performed by his current pediatrician who was extremely reluctant to screen for LD though we specifically requested this test. Blood work was performed, nothing conclusive in normal blood workup. Western Blot test was ordered, however, lab screwed up and only performed an antibody B. Burgdorferi AB Screen which showed a value less than .90. Did not perform the second phase WB test, although we have not requested that be performed.
I don't have confidence in our current Pediatrician and would like to find a childrens doctor in our area that is more open to a diagnosis of LD and better able at interpreting the results of the WB test, once back.
Any help is sincerely appreciated. My son is tired of feeling ill! He is missing quite alot of school and the days he tries to go, ends up in the nurses office after only an hour or so.
I'm committed to finding a physician for him that is more open minded than our current doctor.

Got the perfect lyme doc for you. We are fortunate to have a LLMD who is a member of ILADS right here in our area that treats children. A rare find. I'll PM you his info. He has treated my son for the last two years and my son is doing very very well.
