NEVER GO TO AN INFECTIOUS DR!!
they do not believe in chronic lyme.
they UNDERTREAT YOU up to 3 wks. of antibiotics only!!!
read burrascano's lyme guidelines; you'll understand!

none in that city.

please list 4-6 other LARGE CITIES IN S. FLORIDA and show them with the CLOSEST being named first. i'm not familiar w/florida.

Welcome; i'm so glad you found us!! You've come to the right place for education and support!

Dr. Burrascano's most recent "Diagnostic Hints and Treatment Guidelines for Lyme and Other Tick Borne Illnesses" @
http://www.ilads.org/burrascano_0905.html
suggests that you discuss with your doctor continuing treatment until you are symptom free for 2 months.

this link, making the most of your LLMD visit, may help you also.

Thanks for the info Betty. I tested positive on my Western Blot for bands 23 and 41. I really want to find a Lyme knowledgable Dr. I live in between Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, but would travel to an experienced Doc if anyone knows someone??

Dr H in NY or Dr P in CT are very good LLMD's

Where did you have your western blot done?

Infectious Disease MDs ususally won't diagnose Lyme with only two bands 23 and 41, since it doesn't complies with CDC's guidelines to diagnose Lyme which require more bands to be shown.

Maybe you were lucky and got the rash which warrants a Lyme diagnosis?

Do you have other classic Lyme sx (symptoms)that helped your MD when diagnosing you?

Hey AJ,

sounds like you're in my hometown area [Smile]

I was looking for an LLMD down there too.

I was diagnosed in Orlando and now see a Dr. in SC.

There's a Dr in Tampa (really expensive)

I'm sure someone will have more info for you, but if you need a local lymee buddy, I'm your girl [Smile]

Hey Lymebuster, glad you found us. Since you are tagging onto an old post, I doubt ThatColorGreen will think to look here.

You can send her a private message by clicking on the envelope at the top of her post. This way, she is sure to see it!

Lymies get treated by lyme docs in other states by traveling there. Some fly. Usually, you only see the doc once per month, so that's what we do. Some docs will permit telephone visits every other visit once you are progressing satisfactorily.

You call the office between visits if problems arise or if you have questions. The office will get back to you. That's how we do it.

People from other countries fly to the U.S. for their lyme treatment also.
