I am looking for a doctor in Maryland who is familiar with Lyme. I like my doctor but would like another opinion. I am not sure if I should go to a specialist or another general physician. Any help would be great.
About me. I was diagnosed with Lyme in Aug. I had migraines, fatigue, numbness in left hand, numbness in tongue, loss of words, vision blurriness and blackouts, confusion, joint pain and a bunch more. I just wasn't normal.
I'm actually not too familiar with what type of Lyme I have. I'm pretty confused when I read other peoples posts and when they get technical. I just feel ignorant on the whole subject.
My doctor has never gone over with me exactly what Lyme I have, just that I have had it a while.
I have spots in my brain and I am suppose to get another MRI in a month or so to make sure new spots are not forming.
I started treatment with 4 weeks of doxycycline. Then 8 weeks of Rocephin. Then 4 weeks of Claforin. Now I'm on Minocycline. He wants me to take this for 4 months. If the Minocycline doesn't work he wants me to go back to Claforin.
I developed gall stones from Rocephin and had gall bladder removed last month.
I have always been healthy and this hit me pretty hard and really fast.
I thought my fatigue and tiredness was from having 2 kids and full time job. Then the other stuff started.
When my symtoms would get better and be almost gone, BC/BS would say that I'm cured and don't need more medicine. I also believed I was cured.
After a few days without medicine my symtoms would come back and the joint pain would be really bad. This has happened 2 times.
I'm just really confused and want to make sure I'm headed in the right direction.

Betty's POSTING GUIDELINES
When you post or reply, please break up your solid, continuous block text welcome to the board! many of us have neuro lyme where we can NOT read long solid block text and be able to comprehend and read it as is.
please edit your post by CLICKING PAPER/PENCIL ICON to right of your name. that opens up BOTH subject line and body text.
now please break up your WORDY SENTENCES into one sentence paragraphs. Then hit ENTER KEY ``THREE`` after each paragraph; we need that space for comprehension.
if you are NOT a wordy person, you can do 2 or 3 total ok. do this for your entire post.
NOTE: you do NOT have to use "", just show the name of person you are responding to, and then type your comment.
IF you need to use "", PLEASE DELETE "BOLD" CODES so it's regular type text we read vs. the DARK, HARSH/PAINFUL BOLDING.
specifically, delete the first 4 characters of 2ND LINE of a ""
[QB] just delete these 4 characters, and BOLDING is GONE! my eyes will really appreciate that; it's one very bad side effect of my having lyme for 38.5 years!! xox
then go to left hand corner and mark box to receive ALL REPLIES, and click EDIT SEND
we thank you for helping us; otherwise, we will SOB, SCROLL ON BY, since we can't read to help you. If I see posts like this, I SOB them; to hard on me.
