I am 46 female who is active outdoors, hiking, gardener kayaking etc.. Bit by ticks several times, latest one 8/08. Lived in Seacoast New Hampshire for 14 years(lots of ticks). For the past month I have severe joint pain, started in one knee migrated to other, hips, wrists and migrating shin pain. Difficulty walking at first, had to concentrate on moving my legs.Headaches and foggy brain. I have a laundry list of other symptoms that I have had over the past several months. orthopedic guy,(lyme test negative) referred me to Rheumatologist(appointment not until June 11th...can't wait that long for fear I won't be able to work through the pain!) I have been on .50mg Doxy for two weeks(one more week to go) 600mg ibuprofin and although i can walk easier the pain is horrible some days. Struggling daily to move my joints!

hi & welcome to Lymenet,

Finding a LLMD will ease your mind...you'll get answers.

Makesure to read betty's newbie info on the upper Medical board. Tons of stuff.

I find having people print the green booklet from http://www.lymepa.org is simple regarding symptoms & info of the tick diseases.

I hope those with LLMDs in your area will pm you soon.

Welcome to the board,

Sorry to hear your very familiar story.

Like dmc stated, finding a LLMD will ease your mind and get you some answers.

I PMd you some names in NH (and MA in case you need them). Sorry, I don't have any names in Maine. Hopefully someone else can help you with that.
