just went to a infectious disease doctor and blood got tested and she said negative Which is strange because was diagnosed with lyme before. Did she do the right blood test? Which test is good for getting a positive? Are her guidelines too low? It's very confusing? How can I get one dr. to say positive and then the infectious disease dr say negative? Any info would be great, very confused?? Posts: 24 | From lymeland | Registered: Sep 2008

Infectious disease doctors tell nearly all of us that we do not have lyme disease. I went to one for treatment with my positive lyme test from LabCorp in hand.
I got yelled at that I had too many symptoms! "Nobody could have this many symptoms!" And, she decided to do another lyme test on me. No treatment for me that day. I never went back.
This is what they all do. It is because they all believe very firmly that lyme disease is very rare--very, very rare. So, their job, they believe, it to persuade us that we DO NOT have lyme disease.
They make up rules such as "you must have a bulls eye rash at least 3 inches across in order to have lyme disease."
This has happened to so many of us lymies, that we now tell everyone that ID docs are the ENEMY!
This is no joke. Don't let them confuse you.
I went to a lyme doc after the ID doc and got tested for lyme and coinfections through Igenex and found I had not only lyme disease but also babesiosis, and bartonella. I started treatment and all my symptoms eventually went away. So, who was right?
I finished my lyme treatment 4 years ago and am back to good health. If I had listened to the ID doc, I would probably have committed suicide by now.
Let them get chronic lyme disease and see if they still believe the stuff they try to tell us!
Also, a Boston TV station did a great show on lyme disease a few months ago. Here is the link to it: http://www.kettmann.com/Lyme
When you get to the site, select the link to view the show. The show was taped by a girl on LymeNet and she put it on-line for all of us to be able to view it. You will learn a lot about the medical controversy surrounding lyme disease and why it is so hard to find a doctor who knows how to cure a person of lyme disease.
Where are you in PA? If you are not too far from Baltimore, I can give you the name of a good lyme doc.

Make sure you get a copy of your test results. They will say it's negative when it's not. They don't say it's positive unless it's CDC positive.
This happened to my mom and brother too.
If you still need an LLMD let me know. I have 2 in Hermitage, PA. But you might have already received them by now.
