Hi All,
I hope someone can help me. My Insurance Company will not pay for my meds.

They will allow me to see a Infectious Disease Doctor at one of the two locations above.

The gave me the names of Dr. Stuart Johnson at Loyola and Dr. Bernard Camins at George Washington Univ in St. Louis.

Does anyone know anything about these doctors. I am sick and hoping to get a dr. that can help me and have my insurance pay for it.

I have been on antibiotics before and they made a huge difference. Twitching, jerking, and many waking nights gone while i was on the meds. Within 3-4 weeks after stopping meds it all comes back.

Please anyone help if you have any information on these doctors or PM me if you know of a doctor in Central Illinois that can help me.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
-Mike

Hi Mike,

I'm not familiar with the doctors that you mention. Unless they are truly Lyme Literate, you cannot expect adequate treatment.

A list of LLMD's (Lyme Literate MD's) in in your private messages, along with some other helpful information. Click on the flashing envelope above.

I doubt VERY SERIOUSLY that either place will treat you past 4 wks time .. if that.

Most of us pay out of our pockets in order to get the right care.

Thanks Marian and Lymetoo. My doctor wants me to see one of these doctors, I'm sure its a waste of my time. My guess is they will treat just what CDC says to treat.
Thanks again, Mike

mike,

my suggestions are:

1. go to top of seeking dr. and look for pmervine's post about the YAHOO lyme board she created for all 50 states; join illinois group and ask there ... see what they say.

2. if no answer, go to left side here in the leaf and click on support group; CALL your illinois support group leaders closest to you.

do NOT EMAIL; many are too sick to reply ...
good luck.

by going to infectious drs., your insurance WILL PAY FOR ALL YOUR MEDS WHICH WILL BE LIMITED TO 30 DAYS MAX!

you already have CHRONIC lyme; they don't believe in chronic lyme! fyi only.
