Was diagnosed with Lyme Disease last week and put on 21 day dose of Doxycycline by my PCP.
She also had me schedule a follow up with an infectious disease doctor in the area.
I'd like to know what I should be asking this Dr.
Also, would like to know of any good LLMD's in Southern NJ if I am not happy with how this goes.
Thanks for any help.
George

Well, I would cancel the follow-up appointment and, instead, make an appointment with a LLMD (Lyme Literate MD). Most infectious disease docs don't treat Lyme Disease appropriately.
21 days of Doxycycline IS NOT ENOUGH!

Could someone please send me a PM with the list of LLMD's in the South Jersey region. I have what looks like a new EM rash and am thinking about getting it looked at.
I have previously battled with Lyme and the insurance company, so I know what kind of mess I am up against. My past doctor is no longer in practice.
Appreciate any information you can pass along.
