It's been sometime since I've been able to get on to lymenet... wouldn't you know it... forgot my screen name & password (I'm not surprised... are you? lol) I have missed all kinds of good stuff, but I think I'm mostly caught up now.
I should first let you all know that I FINALLY found a doctor... and one that diagnosed me with chronic lyme. At least that battle has been won. I am now on a treatment plan (100mg doxy, 300mg Omnicef 2X a day)and the war with the little ickies begins! So far I have felt mostly like doggy droppings, but thanks to you all... I was prepared for that eventuality. I am now fighting my PCP over my TDI paperwork. (TDI is temporary disability insurance some states have for people who can't work due to illness) As if I don't have enough on my plate with all the doctor's and tests I'm dealing with! He doesn't want to fill out the paperwork because HE didn't do the diagnosis. It must be nice to sit there with someone's financial life in the palm of your hand and be so nonchallant. Oh well... just one more delay... the doctor that made the diagnosis said he can and will fill out the paperwork.
My attorney has now decided to go ahead with setting up my law suit against the quack I first saw. We now have sufficient evidence to pursue it. It seems that I am not the only person this quack has done this to! But that is another long battle to be dealt with later... my health comes first. (By the way... I feel the legal resources link was most helpful!!)
I say again... this is a great group of people and I am very glad that I found it and all of you!
P.S. There was someone that I was suppose to send office supplies to... I'm sure it's no surprise that it got forgotten with all that's going on... so please e mail me and remind me! (please accept my appology at my forgetfulness too!!!)

Hi babygirl...
gladyou found a doc...but you're on way too low a dosage of doxy...100mg is just going to make you sicker. your body will become immune to the medication adn the bugs will become stronger than ever, and get pushed further into your system... even in combination with the omnicef...you need to be on at least 300-600mg of doxy a day....did you take Dr.B's guidelines with you?
This does not sound like an llmd to me, if they did not know this, and this worries me for your sake...i don't want you to get sicker...
last I heard from you , you were going to try adn get an appt with my llmd and hitch a ride with me to see him in JUNE....what happened to that idea? I hate to see the bugs get on you...Please come with me to see him...
email me privately adn we can talk about it..ok?
worried about you...but glad you're back on lymenet...
Lisa

Thank you all for your support. I'm still not feeling well... my temperature is high and I ache something fierce. I know it'll get better, but man, I wish I didn't feel so down too. All this financial crap I can really do without!!
lla2 I know this is a low dosage of doxy... and I guess I should have mentioned that I have had a lot of problems in the past with antibiotics. Amoxicillan sent me to the ER. So the doctor wanted to try me on the low dose to see how I would do.
This physician is a great guy and he has offered to fill out the TDI paperwork that my PCP wouldn't ... even though he did not put me out of work. He has been very understanding and has actually sat and listened to me... which is a heck of a lot more that anyone else has done. I have to go see him and my neurologist tomorrow (lucky me)and I am going to ask him about another PCP that has knowledge of the condition and a much better idea of the value of a patient. We are sick enough... we don't need doctor's pulling these hissy fits because they didn't do the diagnosis! It should be about US, the patient, not about THEM and their EGO. I want a PCP that is willing to help me with my condition... not pull a temper tantrum!! I don't think that's too much to ask!

I totally understand. while your there see if he will up your doxy, or you will get much sicker , for even longer!
Please do not delay this; \even a week can make a difference in your bugs becoming immune to the doxy....
glad you found a doc to listen. now you need an llmd. they always listen.
