I have never used them.
I use only Igenex...next, Bowen.
Why? No real reason. Other than..there are MORE positives at the ones I mentioned.

One of the doctors I saw felt MDL had a higher rate of positive PRC's than the insurance labs so he used them. Because they are close to us, the turn around time was good. I could have blood drawn in Parkesburg and Fed ex would have it to MDL the next day.

My LLMD only uses MDL. I got a positive (although not CDC) Western Blot from them.

Hey,
I think we've talked about this before in our chats but I had a positive PCR from MDL back in 2001. This is the ONLY real positive test I've had. WBs have been equivical but with some consistent bands (none of these were from MDL - Igenex or Stoneybrook, awaiting labwork back from Bowen).

My very first Lyme test was done via MDL and was positive by PCR. They found it in my urine but not in my blood. My oldest daughter was also positive the first time by PCR. Only hers was positive in her blood, but not in her urine.
My husband and youngest daughter had REPEATED tests and tested negative until we sent blood to IGeneX. Then they got the positives.
It's really a crap shoot if you ask me.

PCR testing is more than a crap shoot, it's a needle in a hay stack no matter where you send it.
A PCR test is a test for Lyme DNA. You have to use a sample that has the Lyme in it. You can have Lyme, but it may not be in the blood or urine sample that is being tested.
No matter how good the lab, they can't return a positive PCR if the spirochette isn't in the sample. Long-term Lyme is usually deeper in the tissues and less in the body fluids (but not always.)

Well, i will get my test results back in 3 days. I know my LLMD used both IgeneX and MDL.
I will post with the details when i get them. I know i had a chronic fatigue panel done, among the other panels for LD and co-infections.
I told my husband that i was excited to finally know what i had, and he said, "you had better have LD", NOT in a mean way. Mostly because, of the ABX and yeast problems that i have had to go through already.

On the other hand, my son has had several CDC WB positives with Quest, so go figure.

My llmds use igenex, mdl, stonybrook, and quest for the basic stuff. I haven't ever had any blood/urine workups with Bowen. cootiegirl
