Three weeks after being bitten while on doxy my lymthnodes swelled up mostly in legs,groin,and neck. An herbalist told me about red clover stillingia which helped for the past 2 months but now they are starting to swell again. I also have blurry vision, floaters,neckache,backache and a persistent headache that doesn't want to go away. After working a full day my knees creak and my big toe hurts on one foot. Every now and then my heart seems to beat abnormally. This bite happend around feb 26th and I was on doxy within a week. I feel however I might have gotten Lymes earlier as a dog I owned dies of Lymes and Babseoisis 4 1/2 years ago. At that time I wasn't feeling great but nowheres near as I feel now. So I went to a walkin med and got tested for Lymes. They use Quest labs. The result was negative so I didn't do anything until this bite. What do you think? Are these normal symptoms?

I would definitely consider finding a qualified Lyme Literate doc (LLMD) ASAP with what you have described.

You live in an endemic state, you are exhibiting lyme symptoms, and possible co-infection symptoms too, and you had an animal with Lyme...three hits!

How long have you been on Doxy and at what dosage?

Quest is reliable for some things, but not for lyme testing usually. Your bloodwork needs to be done by a qualified LLMD and sent to a lab that specializes in Tick Borne Disease detection.

Another reason for a negative result could be that you were tested too soon. This happens often with patients after they are first bit. The problem is that your body hasn't had enough time to build up antibodies to the Lyme bacteria...so, none show up in a quick test.

Again, I can't stress firmly enough that you really need to see a qualified Lyme doc as soon as you can...you only have one chance to fight this thing early on...

If this IS a re-infection...that would explain why you are feeling worse now...
the new bite may have increased an already lingering case and upped your lyme load...or added a few co-infection surprises. Be sure to ask about Bartonella...

try and get a PCR done as quickly as possible. lyme bacteria doesn't stay in the blood long. it looks for areas that are somewhat deep and protected from your body's defenses. if u get a negative PCR, don't take this as u being negative for lyme. PCR has very low yield and getting a positive result even on patients diagnosed with lyme is very hard
