Hey. Good to see you. It is amazing how one person can make such a big difference.

You defy that story of putting your hand in a bucket of water.

I even poured the water out looking for you and still couldn't find you. HA!

You asked what's new...well...we have been calling our lucky number.

And I am going to an interview for a service/assistant dog Thursday.

I am hanging on by a thread lately so I am hoping that the interview goes well and gives me hope again.

It is part of the cell dogs program if you have seen it on TV.

Tincup,

It's great to hear from you. A whole lot of us have been wondering how YOU have been. I can tell that you have remained active for the cause. You're a great woman.

I am doing really well and getting stronger everyday. In fact I went for a 7km hike in the mountains on Sunday. It felt so good to be able to be active again with no pain.

Please enlighten us on how you are and what you have been doing. We sure have missed you around here.

Why is it that you only show as having one post?

Cheers!
Jeannie

Hey KAM...

You snuck in there while I was trying to post that last message. I am having a bit of trouble re-learning to post. Boy oh boy... ya can't teach an old dog new tricks!

At least ME anyhow! HA!

Glad you all are making those calls! I have a good feeling we are going to get it through this time if everyone works together!

About that doggie program....

Do they train them to do dishes?

Obviously I know nothing about it.. but it sounds interesting. Do you have more info to share?

I hope you get some help! You certainly do deserve it.

I would try to help you.. but I don't lick faces or eat off the floor... so what fun would THAT be?

OK.. ok!

SOMETIMES I lick faces... but don't tell anybody!

Good to see you!

I wanna hear more about the dog!

And there is our friend sb!

Wow! I get to visit with you too!

I am a lucky one this morning!

I can hardly keep my fingers still!

They are jumpin' with joy! YIPPEE!!!

You HIKED in the mountains? That would be a dream come true for me....

And it sounds like you did well and enjoyed yourself! A real good thing at lifting your spirits! I wish I had been there to cheer you on!

But what mountain were you in? Tell me all about it! I LOVE mountain stories!!!

Actually... I was in the Ozark mountains with some wonderful Lyme folks last week. I miss them all... now that we are all back home again.

But the mountains were simply beautiful!

Madddog couldn't have picked a better spot! Of course everyone here wanted to know why I was going to Arkansas. They gave me that.. "oh, come on" look when I told them about my upcoming trip.

But then... it is kinda weird.

But.. ya know.. folks in Arkansas also thought we were kinda weird too.

I stopped at a little BBQ place at a trailer site on the side of the road one day... and actually I had to use a ladies room.

The girl in the trailer explained they didn't have a bathroom that was open to the public.. but if I wanted to, I could go down to the Jim Dandy and use their bathroom.

I asked where the Jim Dandy was.. and explained I wasn't from around there.

The lady stopped making me my BBQ sandwhich and turned around and gave me a real strange look.

Then she asked where I was from. I said I came here from Maryland.

Her mouth dropped open and she had this funny look on her face.. and with a serious tone, and a long drawn out southern drawl, said..

"Well if yer from Merry Land, what the he## are ya doing in Rose Bud, Arkansas?"

HA! I had to laugh. And for once in my life.. I was speechless.

My reply was... "Well.. I am looking for a bathroom to start with."

Real intelligent answer, I know.

Anyhow.. it was a wonderful sandwhich.. and I found the Jim Dandy store.. and smiled as I left Rose Bud in my rear view mirror.

Oh....

Maybe you could do us a favor?

I have been on the phone with folks this morning... several of them.

They are all in the real down mode right now.. and I KNOW that YOU know how hard it is to have hope sometimes.

If you haven't already... could you start a new post in Medical section and brag about how well you are doing now compared to before?

It might just help some of the folks who need to hear over and over that you CAN get better!

Thanks for considering it.

I am happy to be back.. but have to run. I have squash growing out of my ears... and need to tend the garden before the rain hits.

I will check back later.

GREAT to see you!

Oh... about the post numbers.

Yeah.. I lost over 12,000 posts in the click of a button it seems. Lost in outer space maybe?

I am trying to work two computers at this point (in the process of upgrading)... and am getting 1/2 the stuff in on one computer.. and 2/3 in the other computer... and I have someone using a third older one on my account while they are visiting from out of state.

I had to re-register because something happened at Lyme Net (??).. and it looks like I am a newbie now.

Go figure!

I am switching my server too now... and I am so confused I think I will never be "right" again. And I am house sitting for two months this time... LOTS of extra work to do!!

I wanted to share my new email address for those who may need to contact me... affective immediately.

[email protected]

If you care about me... you won't email me right yet! HA! Nice way to say it... huh?

Not till I get things sorted out more. I am BIG TIME lost trying to deal with computer stuff... so unless it is urgent... maybe post here for me, for a bit. That would really help my brain pain. Thanks!

I am sure I am missing responding to emails at this point.. so please forgive me. I am still getting 30-50 new ones a day... now divided in several locations... so if I don't respond.. please understand and write me again if you need a response.

Tanks berry berry mush!

Ok.. to the garden I must go!

Jeannie,

Boy was this good to read:

I am doing really well and getting stronger everyday. In fact I went for a 7km hike in the mountains on Sunday. It felt so good to be able to be active again with no pain.

TC,

I will let you know more about the service/assitant dog after the interview.

Your words about doing dishes reminded me of a story I heard about a Grandfather and his grandson.

The grandson was visiting the grandfather and wanted to know if he had washed the plates because they didn't seem very clean.

He kept talking about using cold water to wash the plates. Have you heard it?

Woah...

Look at all those fruitcakes!

Sooooooo good to see everyone!

I am kinda jammed up and jellied about the OPMC thing right now... and am waiting anxiously for to hear SOMETHING...

But your nice notes sure put a smile on MY face tonight.

Thanks for the warm welcome back!

Kbear..

It was wonderful BBQ! I really PIGGED out!

ho ho ho

Hey Siz...

HA! Good to see YOU too!

All over the place!

Hey BG...

I am doing fairly well... how 'bout YOU?

I have a garden full of sunshine, potatoes, tomatoes, summer squash, carrots, beets, brussel sprouts, okra, spinich, lettuce, brocolli, peas, beans, watermellons, pumpkins, gourds, and winter squash!

My dads house is 2/3's done... my house is about 1/2 done... and I am dancing naked on the roof every other Sunday.

Can you top that?

HA!

Cave...

Some of the folks on the trip saw the caverns near the Ozark Folk Art Center. They were really impressed. Of course I was thinking about you!

And I do believe we saw some of your relatives while in the canoe.

There were several caves burried in the cliffs along the Buffalo River!

KAM.. Ya got me going now. Tell me about the story of the grandpa and the dishes.

I can't wait!

Ziggy..

Good to see your smiling face here! Yes.. this was a post JUST for YOU!!! Jelly bean!

That IS a good name for you. Actually.. you should be called a "Bag full of jelly beans." Real colorful, bright, sweet, and sometimes even GOOFY! HA!

And thanks for the offer about the computer stuff. I MAY just take you up on it.

Hey beach!

It seems like forever since I have been here. So NICE to see you too! I hope this note finds you moving forward and feeling better! Your note brought a big smile to my face. Thanks!

OK ya'll...

Back to the rat race.. the OPMC I mean!

Later gators...

Tincup, Be careful dancing on any roofs near K.I., some of the pervs from QACHS that I went to school with will get cameras. You'll make the front page of the Record Observer.

At least cover the essentials with lyme stickers. Then you could be a billboard for the cause.
..and watch out for the mosquitoes. They are even worse there.

Heeeeeeyyyyy Miss Cup,
Thanks for your kind and silly words!

Your garden sounds yummy! Almost as good as a bag of jellybellies!

After nearly 10 years on bedrock, I have a huge yard where I've started the garden I've always wanted!

But alas! I lack experience, living on rock for so long.

One *big* problem (in more ways than one), is that this community is over-populated with deer! They walk down the street and onto the decks and into the yards of everyone here.

Wondering if you've many deer there and best practices for keeping them from eating my garden!

Not to mention their ticks, eating my children! Of course, I am much more educated in that department, thank goodness!

Send some gardening tips once you get settled?
I would appreciate it very much!

Z
