I've recently been posting because my 2 1/2 year old had the bullseye rash and is now being treated with amoxicillin and now Zirthomax.
She will go for some time and have no symptoms and then suddenly one day she will have the chills and a fever. My doc is consulting with a LLMD in CT and I'm going to call tomorrow and make an appt to go and see him.
Anyhow, I'm feeling totally overwhelmed with all of the information I've been reading and my head is just spinning. I can't seem process it all!!!
I read something and it makes me feel like she will be okay and then I read something that freaks me out. I can't sleep and my 5 mos old is teething right now...
Any suggestions on how to not get so overwhelmed and how to stay focused and process at least some of the information?
Thanks and sorry for unloading....

Hello, sorry that you are having such a tough time. I can somewhat relate to your situation. My husband and I were both diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease this spring and our three children 5, 3, and 9 months are being tested now.

I can handle being sick myself but the thought of my children being sick is very unsetteling. I lost a great deal of sleep when the doctors told us that our children were at risk. My daughter is teathing also so I have been completely exhausted as I am sure you are.

If you saw the bulls eye on your daughter chances are she was treated rather quickly? If so that is very much in your favor. Many of the worst cases seem to be those left untreated or under treated for long periods of time.

Perhaps the days she is feeling worse are because of a herx (sp?)reaction. My husband has a lot of trouble with them. Our doctor has told us to stop meds for a day or two when we are feeling our worst. It seems to help. Ask your doctor about them. Are you consulting with the great Dr. J? I am told he is wonderful.

The way I have delt with the stress is to do a great deal of praying and educate my self a little at a time. With time and prayer I realize that all is in the hands of the Lord and he will be there every step of the way to help us.

Also this board has been a great help to me. I can read the posts and be know that others are going through the exact same things I am dealing with. Finding this board and a great LLMD have been wonderful blessings from the Lord above.

I will have your family in my prayers.

Yes, sounds as though your daughter got treatment rather soon. And kids recover very nicely with appropriate treatment.

Will you be seeing Dr. Jones in CT?

Please don't hesitate to ask questions here, okay? Lot's of Lyme moms with similar experiences.
