Haven't tried a forum before but am at the end of my rope. Got a diagnosis 3 months ago for lyme after being sick for 4 years. Almost died when I went into heart block in Oct. and developed a prolopsed mitral valve. I've tried homeopathics, doxy, and finished 4 weeks of IV Rocephin 4 weeks ago. My ID doctor said we don't have Lyme here and can't find a doc in Atlanta, Ga that knows anything about it. I'm a nurse so, I've done alot of my research on the net. Has anyone tried Dr. Zhangs meds? My symptoms came back in only 2 weeks of being off meds. It seems there is no cure. Also, my stomach swells up and I haven't seen much on that. My doctor didn't put any stock in Bowens test even though it came back 1:165. Anyway, I guess I have alot of questions and am low on hope, energy, etc!

Many people quickly relapse after being on IV Rocephin, me included.

Rocephin is not used as much as it used to be because it will send the spirochetes into the cysts form where they will hide out 'til the Rocephin is gone only to come out and reek havoc on you.

Try doing a search using the keyword, "Zhang" and you'll come up with many posts on this subject. I'd search in Medical Forum as this is a subject that is usally over there.

Here's a post right on the very first page of the Medical Forum, right now:

I hpe that this helps you in your search for answers. Remember, that we do care.

Oh and about not answering this post any sooner, well, I was on LymeNet from very early and stayed for several hours and just plain didn't get to your post, sorry.

Remember it can take time for the right someone to come along with information to answer the question you are asking.

Nanzy,

I know of one lymie in ct. that uses his protocal, after being sick for a while (2 years) and made good progress on it. He is the anti drug type (wont take abx). It isnt cheap, but if you can swing it, I would think its worth a shot. I used his Artemesia, but found Hepalin.com brand a little stronger(Artemesia is for the babesia coinfection.), for about the same price. Word of warning, while on the Zhang protocal, you will stink like garlic. But then most of us do anyway, so what the heck.

If you are not adverse to abx. I think that staying on doxy for a while might help. Getting better can be a long process. I did well on it and as you know it gets into the cns pretty well.

Dont lose hope, there are many ways to skin this cat, and thats what we are here for..
