This looks like a good article. Expensive, for now, but it may be important for some who are currently involved in legal struggles over Lyme treatment, and therefore worth the cost.

It will hopefully be available less expensively soon.

From CALDA:
Lorraine Johnson, J.D., M.B.A. and Ray Stricker, M.D. recently published "The treatment of Lyme disease: a medicolegal assessment" in Ex. Rev. Anti-Infect. Ther. 2(4),533-557 (2004).

The authors discuss
a) the medical basis for diagnostic and therapeutic uncertainty in Lyme disease, including variability in clinical presentation, shortcomings in laboratory testing procedures, and design defects in therapeutic trials and

b) the issues regarding the legal standard of care that apply to treating physicians and insurers caused by underlying scientific uncertainty in Lyme disease diagnosis and treatment. The authors highlight the role of evidence based medicine, patient autonomy, patient preference and informed consent in Lyme disease. An announcement about the article and how to acquire a copy is posted on the CALDA intranet

I did sign on as a guest and wasn't able to find the Stricker article. I know it must be there but, that is a lot to muddle through to find.

Could you just copy the url address when you are on the Stricker article page...just copy your address line when on that page?

I would like to read it but, alas, do not have the time right now to find it from the Homepage link you provided.

Thanks,

Rosemary

I did, however, notice that the Canadian pharmacy that I have been using for years and is one of the most dependable (doctor faxes the prescription to them and their turn around is 7 days to about 10 or 11 days later and you get your prescription), reliable and not to mention one of the MOST cheapest, Canadian drugstores was not mentioned.
www.realfastdrugstore.com

I've done a lot and I mean a lot of searching for the best pharmacy via the web in Canadian, and have even tried others only to be disappointed with their customer service and their turnaround time...which one was 3 weeks before I got my drugs.

So, I will continue to send out this information in hopes that others will find this one as good as I have found them to be.

Rosemary, I'm sorry, but the way the intranet site works, you can't copy urls of individual pages.

If you sign on as a guest, you enter on a page that has a list of announcements. The first announcement (currently) is the one you want. Lyme Medicolegal Article Published

Click on that, and it will take you to the abstract for the article.

If you want to let them know about RealFastDrugs, you can email them at [email protected] .

I'm not in charge of the website, just been trying to let people know about the resources available there. I agree the site is not he easiest to get around, but they are working on it.
