Haven't posted for quite awhile due to non-stop chaos at my house....anyone relate to that??? lol

I had posted several months ago regarding a freind diagnosed with aggressive B cell lymphoma and asked for prayer.

She did her six rounds of chemo and was deemed to be in remission two months ago. Docs calling her a miracle patient.

She had a mammogram and then ultrasound for suspicious nodule last week and now must go back to Vanderbilt Thursday to see her hematologist to schedule a biopsy as it is a lymph node compatible with a reoccurance of the lymphoma.

She and I had coffee the other morning prior to her finding this out and she is sure the cancer has returned. Not out of fear or worry but "intuition". We all know our own bodies better than anyone else.

If this lymph node is positive, she will have to undergo a bone marrow transplant. Her greatest concern at this point is her husband and children. She has a daughter ,13, and twin boys who are 12.

I am thanking God this morning for his timing. I'm not really sure how to say this without it sounding weird, but here goes. I just feel like he put the two of us together because he knew we would both come to rely on each other for support during this time. If I were not ill, I could not be there for her on Thursday (and every other day), nor she for me.

As difficult as it is to feel this way physically everyday it is so reassuring to know that I have a God who knows what he is doing. I don't think he causes us to be ill but he can take the darkest of situations and make them shine to his glory.

So asking any of you who will, to pray diligently that this too shall pass and she will be considered a miracle patient a second time.

So sorry your friend has to have the biopsy.

I don't think there's a limit on miracles, so we can certainly pray for another one.

Tell her that the people at LymeNet send lots of concern & support to her and her family.

If you can, give us some updates from time to time.

I will place her in my prayers also. Yes God puts you in peoples lives for reasons that sometimes like your situation you are blessed enough to know why.

We supported each other all year and into the next few since we could really relate to what each other was going through.

The sad thing is, she still has cancer. She's had about 4 different kinds....now it's in her liver. I still have Lyme, but am so much better! I wish she was too!

Yes, God was in there too....helping us comfort one another. He's so wonderful! I don't know what I'd do without Him!

We went to Vandy last Thursday and her hematologist found another node above her clavicle(collarbone). He murmured,,,"this doesn't look good" and was not his usual jovial self.

He has ordered full scans for her and an eval with breast cancer dept there on Sept 8th.

So she will know more next week. Please keep praying for her healing and for God to continue to give her peace in her heart.

My mother-in-law had lung cancer. I believe the statistics for the certain cancer she had was a 14% survival rate.

It was so bad that they told her to prepare herself and her family for her death.

She was so weak that could barely stand, much less walk.

She said she was told she had one white blood cell left (not sure if that is actually accurate or not).

She has been cancer-free for over 5 years now.

She considers it a miracle.

At the same time my mother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer, my husband's best friend's/coworker's father came down with the same lung cancer. He died within a year.

My mother-in-law says that it wasn't until she asked God to take her burdens and do his will and she stopped worrying about the cancer and dying that she felt at peace and felt that she would be healed.

The Lord works in mysterious ways.

I'm sorry to learn of the challenges you and your friend are facing.

I recently read an interesting book on cancer - Alternative Medicine Definitive Guide to Cancer by W. John Diamond, W. Lee Cowden, and Burton Goldberg - to help with ideas for natural ways to strengthen the immune system for dealing with Lyme. Even if your friend would not consider alternative therapy instead of conventional therapy - and for some cancers alternative docs recommend conventional in addition to alternative - there are still complementary medicine suggestions in this book that may be of interest to your friend. John Diamond has written other stuff on cancer as well.

If your friend might be inclined to use certain herbs and nutritional healing advise (basically to eat a low fat whole food diet, preferably vegetarian, preferably organic), it may be worth the cost to have this source of information. It's available on Amazon.com. The book contains information on the cancer treating regimens of more than a dozen MDs who use alternative medicine to treat cancer. I found it worth reading, but know that it may have more appeal to an alternative medicine minded person than to one who prefers conventional medical approaches.
