Been awhile since I've been here. My mother has recently moved here to AZ. from R.I. She has been diagnosed with Lyme which she has had several times.

I am curious about something back there and wonder if anyone has heard this story also. There is talk that the lyme originated from an island off of CT. where medical projects were done. A doctor that had worked at the facility was treating pt's in CT. and has suddenly disappeared from the area. Does anyone know of her, Dr.Yost?

No answers on the Doc Y, but I am sorry to hear of your mother.

Since she has been diagnosed with it before, I am assuming you know what you need to do to rid her of lyme?
Was she just reinfected or maybe the co infections were not treated?

It appears that you have been reading on lyment for several months. So, I hope you have all the good info to help her.

Take Care, maybe someone else can answer your question.

Amanda

Thanks for the note. I haven't been reading for long on here, did a short time before I went east to take care of my mother. Was gone for three months, not back here with her.

She has had some treatment on and off for several years now. This last time almost killed her. She was in so much pain and swollen joints, hands like mittens. Also damaged her heart this last time.

This last episode she was treated with amoxicillin for three months by her regular doctor. I took her to a doctor in Madison CT. and she put her on another two months of amoxicillin. She is doing better now, but still has some problems.

We are in the process of trying to locate a doctor here in Arizona that treats lyme. Her regular doctor admits he knows little about the disease and is looking for someone with experience with lyme.

The reason I am interested in Dr. Yost, is that she treated pt's with lyme and gave seminars for the public on it. She just suddenly disappeared from the area.
