I just read in a UK magazine article today that Michael is working on a documentary about the failing US healthcare system, to start after the elelection.

Could this be a perfect opportunity for us also to get our stories heard, and things (hopefully) changed?

Anyone who wishes to write him (with their personal horror stories of misdiagnosis/non-treatment, etc) can do so by going to his website www.michaelmoore.com and his email is on there.

Any good idea-people and writers here?

Although I now live in the UK, I do intend to write to try to bring some attention to this issue. There's nothing to lose, and everything to gain.

I would really appreciate though if other Lymenet members would type on here key points in case I miss out on any, to put in my letter.

I am trying my best, but may forget something important that someone else may think of. I don't want to make it a novel, but want it to be fairly short and to pack a punch so to speak.

I have started writing it but I feel my head is so full of stuff that it is not coming out in an orderly and to the point fashion.

Hi DLL,

this subject was discussed here already, after I brought it up:

You answered to it, BTW

Yes, I remember, but no reason not to try again.

DLL,

You must be improving if you did something and remembered it.

Please read the discussion on the last thread in consideration of speaking on the whole Lyme story specifically in this kind of arena..

Worth considering being very careful as to how this is presented, for all our sakes. Things with our illness are fvery delicate right now. Could backfire with MM (and I like his work)

On the other hand, I think focussing on the state of HEALTHCARE in this kind of project could be good...

IMO

OK, Mo, I will go back and have a look.

Yes, I understand, maybe I'll scrap it.

Bad idea, to many people in U.S. do not look at Michael Moore as a credible source.
This would not be healthy for lyme suffers. Would do more harm than good.

Send Michael Moore video and audio evidence of your seizures, your children's seizure, etc., the insurance co. representative's responses, the vicious, sadistic responses of healthcare workers, evidence of the obstructive tactics, intimidation, intransigence, hostility, wear-down tactics to undermine your efforts to get appropriate and timely treatment. The murder attempts,if any, explicit, and otherwise disguised in the form of "treatment," and/or withholding of treatment. Document violence, verbal, physical--- yours, a family member's, a spouse, your neighbor's,if infected.

Submit video, and audio evidence of healthcare personnel putting you/and or your family in the very same state of emotional terror as someone in-between a side-arm and some pit-bulls, and coerced into voluntarily/involuntarily acquiecsing to that which they should like to see you, or a loved one undergo/not undergo; after-all, it is/was for your o-w-n g-o-o-d, the good of the child.
Turn these people into "movie stars."
The higher the "authority figure," medical, governmental,or otherwise, the better; after-all, the highest authorities are always claiming "ultimate responsibility..."
Start at the top and work down.

If possible, get it in digital format for easier transcription to webformat. If Moore doesn't do the movie, you can always make your own, and "publish" it on the web, either when you and/or your loved/hated one is alive, or, posthumously. If now alive, make arrangements with someone to have this posthumously launched to the worldwide web.
