Okay, this idea just came to me this afternoon as I was sitting around, listlessly surfing the web because I'm just so tired, and I noticed a little present a Lyme friend of mine had sent to me. She's really amazing and loves sending little cards and presents to lift my spirits and I try to do the same back to her.
So, it hit me - Secret Lymies! I'm sure other people would love to receive a little card or inexpensive present now and then to know someone cares and is thinking of them. I would like to get this going so I will take the responsibility for matching up Secret Lymies but after that it's up to everyone else to send little things out.
Anyone interested? I'm thinking a little pick-me-up card and inexpensive (and easily shipable) present - say, <$5. If you're interested, either post on here with your name, e-mail address, and snail mail address OR e-mail me privately with that same information ([email protected]). It would also be helpful to know some basic interests and things like favorite color, etc. If you'd like to have a special Secret Lymie pal for a child, also include his/her age and interests. Then I'll e-mail each person with the name and address of their Secret Lymie.
This seems like a great way to connect everyone and keep our spirits up. It helps to know someone out there cares!
Peace and healing, Annie

Annie, this seems a very nice idea... Do you accept Europeans in your conspiration?

Hi Sylvie,
Sure. I'll just have to make sure to find someone who's okay with sending things overseas. I'm sure someone will be more than happy to do this. E-mail me your info at [email protected].

I'm totally 100% ready to roll on this outstanding idea!! I shall be e-mailing you privately asap. Thanks for putting people together, it will be a real blessing I know.
Should we maybe add age and sex to our profiles as well?
That way we have a little more insight into something nice to send send our secret lymie . . .
or even whether to send them a card with naked men or naked women on it when the going REALLY gets tough!

slcd,
Good idea. Although I don't know if naked anything would really be appropriate. A lot of people who want to participate (that's not that many, I only have like five people signed up) did give me their age or rough age. Basically, people can give me as much or as little information as they feel comfortable doing.

I have 8 people signed up with me for this and I'd like to wait to start it until I have at least 10 signed up. Don't be shy! Make someone's day! (And let someone else make yours!)

This is a great idea. We had something like this at work.
I could borrow the information sheet that she had us send out if need be.
It worked very well.
I also am interested in helping out. I know what it is like to be able to function for a while and then have times when things have to be put on hold.

Thanks, Kam. I'm hoping that my part of it will only be sending out the info to match people up (of course, not just in pairs, but mismatched up). But, if you'd like to help, it might be good for me to have someone else to pitch in if I can't handle that at some point. Would you like to participate, too?
I'll be in touch if I need help.
