Hi folks, just been diagnosed with Lymes this past week and have started 1000mg Ceftin per day. I went to my counselor today and I hope I dont sound like I just called you up to lay my shoulder on someone, but I have a few problems I wish to ask about.
1. Has anyone contracted the disease during work and filed for workman's comp? If so, would you contact me on my email if you wish to help me file correctly?
2. What do you do with a spouse who has never shown to be a health supporter(I will throw that one in for grins), and now I feel he doesn't want to help me with day to day issues that come up with or without the Lymes. How do I ask for help when I already have asked. Yesterday it took me 45 minutes to make pancakes out of a box. I explained later to him. The same afternoon he went golfing, and I called him and said why don't he pick something up for dinner. He came home empty handed and said did you find anything for us to eat. I don't understand. I just as soon get this workmans comp thing overwith and then go to some diagnostic hospital, with psychiatrist, someone to teach me to eat, take my meds. and try to heal a bit. Is this just the new herx. reaction talking, or am I asking too much?

Can't help you on the workman's comp but I can on the husband issue. My husband helps more than I ever thought he would but he still feels like I don't do enouph.

I still do Daily things and when I walk in the door my body just won't function anymore. He claims he needs help. I told him trade me a little of your energy and good health and will do more. I am new to Lyme to. I started my antibiotics on Wednesday. Its really rouph already.

Went to pick up the kids from school today and saw that I won't be driving for a bit. I said I am going to get a DWI (driving while infected) I literally feel like a drunk with a bad case of the flu along with allot of other crazy stuff.

Hope you feel better soon. I also hope your husband comes around and starts helping you more.

Cindy

Well here is what we do, maybe it might help? My husband was always the worker and I would work little jobs. So naturally I would do the house work. But I would make him do the trash...LOL.

He then got lyme and things got hard for a while! I got a little frustrated Im not going to lie. I have supported him though the best that I ever could.

So I found that doing the little things that he was cappable of doing should be fine enough for me.. It still is hard, because we have 3 kids and I do pretty much what a single mother would.

He is on the IV so he cant bathe the kids, cant do the dishes (IV could get wet), or trash Cant lift more than a gallon of milk), or pretty much alot of thing. But that is ok he helped fold laundry today and he tries to do the things he can do. Folding laundry is so not his thing!!!...lol

Im not sure what kind of relationship you have but he needs to understand what is happening to your body and understand what your limits are.. Im not perfect but I care a lot for my Hubby so I try to be as aware of his symptoms everyday. You know how it is.. You feel fine then you dont. symptoms arent on timers you have no clue when they are going to hit.

Well I hope I have helped you in any way I could. I wish you best of luck and better health!

Joyce

Yes. There are some cases of people winning workers comp. There was a rather well known case of an EMT worker in NY who contracted the disease from a homeless person.
