Just read your post on wanting to get rid of your possessions. Now it all makes sense; a lot of times since being sick I have wanted to get rid of all my nice possessions. Helps to know what is happening ; now that I feel better, I am glad I didn't give or sell it all.

Hi,
I guess it's a good thing to be 'enlightened.' The more I learn about the symptoms of this disease the more overwhelmed I am.

My daughter helped sort through some things so that I had an objective view. I REALLY can't stand even knowing the stuff is in the house. She's mad, though, because I threw out all the odd socks and then found the match a couple days later.

I have had a loss of feeling and attachment for certain people, too. Mainly my caregivers. I am hoping my feelings of affection will return as I get better.
It helps to know what to tell the doctor.

It is nice to know I'm not alone.
Cathy

Kathy: Sometimes I have felt(emotion wise) like a null set( ); i.e. no emotions just plain empty; weird, but true. Just couldn't express anger, sadness, happiness, just felt strange as heck.
I also still feel like I can't stand my long time possessions. I will hold back now that I've read your post. I feel better that I am not alone on this. I imagine there are more like us out there with these dull happenings.

Hey guys..

I wrote some in the other thread about the extreme time with my son, but also..

he felt this detatchment toward all others, even his baby sis (who he adores) for many months pre and during intensive therapy.

It (the affection) has all returned.

I felt this toward people, too, and allot of times felt detatched or "under water"..just not caring. Not caring that I wasn't caring, and even being constantly annoyed at others for needing to communicate with me at all for any reason.

Kinda know what you are saying, and it will come back, and you will see it more clearly then.

This is the hardest part..the way our minds are effected by the infections.

Mo
