Was wondering if anyone out there has had eye troubles from Lyme. I have had terrible eye problems and they seem to flare up when I am off the Doxy. I am seeing a wonderful Lyme MD who has restored my vision for me but I am wondering why I keep having problems when I try and go off the ATBX.
Any advice would be appreciated.

How much Doxy did you take per day?
How long did you take it?

I'm not a dr, but I'll suggest several possible explanations:

1) Dose of antibiotic may not have been strong enough.

2) Length of treatment may not have been long enough.

3) Eye problems could be caused by co-infection like Bartonella. Bart can have serious affect on the eyes.

Fifteen years ago had blurry vision. Went to a good eye DR. put me on meds for a few months (cant recall the PR-some generic antibiotics). The vision cleared up.

Two years ago the problem came up again. Another DR looked at it. There was an infection around the optic nerve, which put pressure on the nerve. Again another round of drugs, cleared up in two months. When it did clear up it was not gradual, it was like someone turning on/off a switch. Right after that I was tested positive for lyme.

Lyme did not go away. To this day, I walk around with a slightly blurred vision.

I'm waiting to get some more tests before the Dr gives me a PR.

Had this dreadful disease for a long time.

Buy the way, all my problems are on the left side: eyes, rotator cup, lower back pain, knee, and headaches. Also they come and go at the turn of the switch.

Mine are on the right side. I get double vision, my mouth on the right side gets numb at times, part of tongue at the same times, I get flashing lights also. I think it is because I was late in getting diagnosed. It was 6 years until the lyme diagnosis.

Lyme screwed up my vision- it never completely recovered to the point it was bwfore-- but that wasn't that greatr to start with. It did improve a little though- it was one of the things that took the longest..

I have had eye problems for a few years prior to being diagnosed with lyme. My left eye in particular goes blurry to the point where I cannot see out of it at times.

I have been on IV antibiotic therapy for 6 months now for chronic lyme and when herxing my vision is just weird--cannot really explain it. I get double vision and real dry eyes.

I keep swearing that I need new glasses but they are only 8 months old-so it is me.
