Help!

I'm experiencing severe brain pain...I'm at the beginning of this process, after 6 MONTHS of symptoms. Saw a physician who's doing a Western Blot test, but won't get results for 2 weeks.

I've gone from severe muscle pain to a complete neurological breakdown that's moving into the psychological realm now with INTENSE panic attacks (that last all day) with violent outbursts.

Now I've got this brain pain that's driving me to a point of suicidial thoughts. It feels like this mass inflamation of the brain with intense pressure. A burning pain is now going into my jaw and face.

My first three attempts put me in the ER.

? Has anyone else experienced this chronic brain pain ?

? How would you describe your pain ?

? Did the antiB. make it worse ?

? What have you done for the brain pain ?

Thanks! sunny33

yes, abx can make these treacherous symptoms worse during a herx, but better in the long run.

imo you should see a neurologist and have them do a complete workup. a neuro can rx iv gamma gloubulin which is often used succesfully for peripheral neuropathy (the brain feeling you described).

some of the following drugs can be helpful for neuropathy:

rx : gabapentin (neurontin), phenytoin and carbamazepine;

(antidepressant) amitriptyline;

over the counter : acetyl-carnitine, GABA

curious what did the ER do for you?

be patient, so hard i know, but be patient....

I have had this and it is 'blow your head off' type of pain.(but don't do that there is relief available) I have found no other way to describe it, though.

Neurontin is the only thing that helped me. It takes a little time for your body to adjust but give it time it is worth it.

I hated taking one more pill, but I am thankful everyday for the management of the head pain.

You are not alone and you are not a baby. I hope someday they have a way to see what is going on in our heads and they will not believe what we have lived through.

Good luck! Go now and get some relief.
