I had a checkup with Dr. E today. I felt worse on Cefzil, but in a gradual sense--didn't seem to resemble what I've read of herxing, and it was consistant over the whole month since I started.

My Dr. is trying me on a combination of zithromax and amoxicillin--if I remember correctly I've seen a few people around here who have been on that combination.

Any tips or experiences with these abx?

Thanks!

Those are both good drugs. Zithromax is a macrolide, stays in your system a long time, and amoxicillin is a penicillin. They both go at the infection, but in different ways.

It is most important with both these drugs, and especially in combination that you take acidophilis capsules to replace the good bacteria in your gut, or you will get diahrrea and possibly a yeast infection.

You need the live culture kind that you keep in the fridge. I would go to the health-food store and get the best they offer.

Good luck!

So the flora I took with Cefzil is no good? My doctor didn't tell me to change my probiotics.
